South African Airways (SAA) launches new routes this December. Routes to Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe; Windhoek, Namibia; and a route to Gqberha, South Africa, from Johannesburg’s OR Tambo International Airport will be in operation starting this month.
As of December 8th, 2022, there will be two daily flights to Windhoek, Namibia. The flights will operate 7 days a week. This makes it easier for tourists in Johannesburg to experience the beauty of Namibia.
Add Victoria Falls to your travel list because SAA will be servicing the route starting December 14th, 2022. Travelers can fly from Johannesburg to Victoria Falls six days a week, excluding Saturdays. Victoria Falls is home to one of the largest waterfalls in the world.
If you choose to stay in South Africa, you can fly to Gqeberha in Port Elizabeth starting December 12th, 2022. There will be three return flights per day to this destination, located in the country’s Eastern Cape Province.
“We are thrilled to start flying to Gqeberha as demand is high over the holiday season and we are happy to play our part in bringing families together this festive period.”
Increased route frequencies
To accommodate travelers’ plans this season, SAA has increased its flights to Harare, Zimbabwe, from 7 to 10 times a week and flights to Mauritius from 4 times a week to 7.
“In pursuit of this drive to please our customers, we are relentlessly working on expanding the network of destinations we serve, to enhance seamless travel connectivity. Our new routes along with increased frequencies to our regional destinations, represent the second phase of our post-Covid restart operations “
